2011 – What have we done? The last major fund raising event which has been held at Trinity in 2011 was the Christmas Tree Festival which has raised in excess of £2000. It was a great success and everyone who has been involved in the organisation of it deserves a big thank you. Other fund raising events have taken place throughout the year and have also helped in a big way to provide the resources for the work of Trinity in maintaining a place of worship and outreach. Many of these almost appear to happen automatically, but we all know that a lot of time and hard work is given in order that the events will be successful. This magazine would not appear without the dedicated commitment of all involved. Nor would we have a clean chapel without willing volunteers. And what about the up keep of the fabric of the building? Who knows what amount we save because of those who are happy to apply their expertise in the solving of many of the day to day problems in the wear and tear of the place. We are thankful also for the variety of decoration in the chapel and for the music provided for our worship. How about the Saturday morning cafe and the myriad other times when refreshments are provided? What about those who lead groups and provide a space for others to find friendship and peace? So much is done unsung that it is easy to take it all for granted. I know that in listing these things that I am in danger of missing some other things and I would apologise to those I may have missed. I just want to say thank you to everyone for all you have done and given in the past year for the work of God at Trinity. We would also want to celebrate the extension of the work at Trinity through the “Trinity Mission Night Shelter” which has been set in motion by Rev Jenny Gill and others. Here is a practical opportunity for the outworking of our faith. Thanks to many who have already supported the work and to the volunteers (more are needed!!). And finally, another important decision we have taken in 2011 is to replace the pews with chairs!! Thanks for 2011 and God’s blessing for 2012 God’s love and grace be with you.
